London Christmas Activities to Book Now

It may be 108 days until Christmas, but there are key London Christmas activities you need to book now for optimal yuletide cheer.

Londoners, and all Brits for that matter, are obsessed with Christmas AND since Christmas was basically cancelled in the UK last year, I have a feeling quite a few things will sell out in advance.

So, check out the below Christmas activities and get booking, so you’re not left out in the cold – literally and figuratively – come December.

Covent Garden Christmas Tree

Christmas at Kew

In November and December, Kew Gardens turns into a magical light trail, as the Royal Botanical Garden is transformed into a festive light display. I was meant to visit Christmas at Kew last year, but Covid put a kibosh on those plans, so I’ve already booked my tickets for this December. Fingers crossed I’ll be wandering the glowing gardens, with mulled wine in hand. I’m so ready to be immersed in this winter wonderland of light.

Winter Wonderland

And speaking of Winter Wonderlands, the namesake Christmas event returns to Hyde Park this year, full of fairground rides, ice skating, circus shows, live music and all of the Christmas markets and alpine chalets an elf could dream of. The event is ticketed this year, to make up for last year’s losses, so grab your booking before all of the good time slots are gone.

A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic

What’s better than watching the Charles Dickens classic in an iconic London theatre with mince pies, a bell choir, and even fake snow? Not much, unless you’re a Scrooge. I saw the 2019 version of this Old Vic production, and felt transported to Dickensian London. I loved it so much that I’ve already grabbed tickets for December.

And if you want to be at the top of the Nice list, book mark the below websites, so you can be the first elf to book once these Christmas activities open for booking.

Dalloway Terrace

This festive pop-up in Bloomsbury is a bit pricey, but worth it for brunch and the all-out Narnia Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe vibes. It books up super fast, so keep an eye out on their socials for December dates.

Miracle at Henrietta

Speaking of festive pop-ups, Miracle at the Henrietta Hotel is my absolute favourite. They deck the restaurant out like a kitschy Christmas living room and every inch is covered in tinsel. You’ll feel straight out of a Christmas Story. Get your Christmas jumper ready.

Backyard Cinema

I love a nostalgic Christmas film, and you can watch your favourite at the Backyard Cinema in Wandsworth all December long. Their space is transformed into a Winter Garden, so you’ll feel right at home with a mulled wine and a Christmas Classic. Sign up for their mailing list, to be the first to hear about their 2021 season.
